The ACR Project submitted a letter to the Montgomery County, Maryland’s Department of Health and Human Services, concerning the County’s announced intention to prioritize COVID-19 vaccination eligibility on the basis of race, among residents of of certain of the County’s hardest hit ZIP Codes.  The ACR Project expressed our concern that this violated  federal law and may require judicial intervention, and suggested that the County learn from Oregon’s example and similarly reconsider the policy.

[UPDATE: Montgomery County appears to have never implemented the announced policy, before Maryland Governor Hogan ordered the County to abide by the state’s prioritization scheme, so mooting the issue.]
